Filmmaking is my gateway to encounter people I might never have met, to discover stories I might never have known, and to traverse landscapes I might never have seen if I had chosen a different path. The pursuit of the perfect frame, the most beautiful light, is a small price to pay for the privilege of this journey.

I am drawn to cinéma vérité, immersing myself in the lives of others, capturing the raw essence of their stories. I believe that a powerful image is born not only from technical mastery but also from the bonds of trust built behind the camera. Whether working as part of a team or as a one-man band, I find joy in forging unique connections with my subjects.

An award-winning Italian filmmaker and cinematographer based in New York City, my journey began over a decade ago in Colombia, where I first ventured into the world of independent documentaries in 2010. In 2021, the series I shot and produced, documenting the arduous journey of extra-continental migrants through Latin America, garnered an Emmy, a Peabody, a National Headliner, and a Hinzpeter award.

Since 2020, I have filmed numerous documentaries for Foreign Correspondent, the international documentary strand of ABC (Australia), as well as for SBS (Australia), BBC, and Al Jazeera's Fault Lines. My work covering Colombia’s peace process was recognized with a 2017 Overseas Press Club award (in collaboration with Nadja Drost).

In addition to my work for international media, I have shot and directed several independent documentary films, including El Gigante (The Giant), which received special mentions at international film festivals, and Apuntando al Corazón(Striking the Heart), a critical examination of the Colombian military’s propaganda campaigns. Currently, I am in post-production on a documentary film with journalist and filmmaker Nadja Drost, Alias La Mona, which follows the poignant journey from war to peace of a FARC guerrilla fighter and mother who laid down her arms in Colombia’s peace deal.
